I have pretty high expectations when it comes to incoproting the web into my classroom.  My goal is to make my classroom rigors, real-life, and relevant, and the web can achieve all of those for me.  Web integration has shifted me from a teacher to a facilitator.  It is an awesome feeling when you are able to sit back and see the learning take place.  I call it the light bulb effect.  There is no better feeling than seeing things click and watching those light bulbs light up inside our students heads.  The ability to communicate and collaborate are my next goals to tackle.  As I’ve shared Darcy’s blog, http://dgoshorn.com/, with you, I hope to run with his idea and do the same for my classroom.  Technology can help us get to those hard to reach places and students.

Your blog is really inspiring. Space really does have the potential to grab students these days. Our school is doing an interdisciplinary across-all-grade levels unit on the solar system, so I will bechecking in to see what’s up (so to speak) and I will pass the blog along to some other teachers to access.

If I read correctly you teach in the Altoona School District. Is that Altoona, PA? If so, we are in the same area and I can so relate to the apathetic ways of our community towards their own children.
Darcy’s log is quite useful and full of so much info. I can only imagine how much time it must take him. Of course if he’s a lot more tech savvy than me, which doesn’t take much, he probably does it in little time.

It sounds like you are making great progress with the tech in your classroom. I am really looking forward to when I am comfortable enough and competent enough to introduce this information to my students.
